# Assign responsibility without exposing the whole company

Delegate a project, process or domain to the right person, and keep financial access explicit.

## Start with the work and its team

The company owner already manages the company’s scope and does not need to assign themselves again to gain the same access. Assign another eligible team member when you want to delegate management.

A domain manager can oversee an assigned business area, a process owner its process and a project manager its delivery. Their controls follow their assigned scope and capabilities.

## Assign a project manager

1. **Open Project management:** Choose the project in Project Canvas and open Project management.
2. **Open Team:** Use the Team section and Assign project manager when you have permission to delegate.
3. **Choose the person:** Select an eligible person from your teams. Confirm the intended project and responsibility.
4. **Verify the assignment:** The colleague opens Company Workspace and sees the work available to their assignment.

## Who can change a team?

The team’s authorized owner and delegated managers can edit its composition, save changes and manage the controls exposed to them. A shared or view-only team does not grant permission to edit its source record.

Use Team Canvas to create, combine and maintain teams. Assigning a project manager does not make that person the owner of every source team or the whole company.

## Financial access is a separate boundary

Project work access does not automatically expose the company’s invoices, private margins, payroll or every accounting entity. Give only the financial capabilities and entity access required for the responsibility.

An agency’s client participates in the agreed project, reviews deliverables and handles the invoices available to them. Other client projects and internal supplier economics remain outside that project’s access.

## Check from the assignee’s context

- The correct company and assigned work are visible.
- The manager can perform the intended team or delivery action.
- Unrelated work and ungranted financial information remain unavailable.
- Suspending membership or removing an assignment changes that access; it does not delete the project.
