TEAMS AND PEOPLE

Assemble a larger team from multiple teams

Combine reusable teams in Teams Canvas or assign several teams to one project in Project Architect.

01

Choose the right composition level

Collty supports two related but different workflows. Teams Canvas creates a reusable team object that can itself contain several source teams. Project Architect creates the delivery composition for one project and can connect several saved, external or hybrid teams to the project plan.

Use Teams Canvas when the combined group should be saved and reused. Use Project Architect when several teams need to collaborate on a particular project, with assignments connected to phases, tasks, workload and the project's operating model.

Build a reusable combined team in Teams Canvas

  1. 1
    Open My Teams

Open Teams Canvas from Client Office or Team Studio. The Library contains the teams available to the current workspace and account.

  2. 2
    Open the starting team

A click opens one team as the current composition. Its central team object, specialists and relationships are expanded on the field.

  3. 3
    Add another team

Drag a different team card from Library onto the field, or use the add-team action in the narrow tool rail. Dragging adds the team; it does not remove the source card from Library.

  4. 4
    Review the expanded structure

Each source team appears with its own central object and specialists. The larger composition receives a top-level central object for the combined team.

  5. 5
    Name and save the result

Give the combined team a distinct name, review its top-level settings and save it as a new reusable team record.

  6. 6
    Detach without deleting

Remove a source team from the combined composition when it is no longer needed. The original source team and its own projects remain intact.

Use several teams in Project Architect

Project Architect is the correct surface for a cross-functional or project-specific hybrid composition. It combines the brief, plan and delivery evidence, so missing capability is evaluated against actual phases and tasks instead of simply joining unrelated teams.

  1. 1
    Start from the right surface

Create project sends a Hybrid team into Teams Canvas first. Open Project Architect directly only when a team already exists and you are intentionally planning a project-specific multi-team composition.

  2. 2
    Choose Hybrid team

Use this mode when the project starts with your own people but still needs external capability. Choose an existing core or create one with yourself as its first member.

  3. 3
    Add your internal core

Attach one or more saved teams from My Teams. Their real profile IDs become the locked starting composition.

  4. 4
    Find the missing capability

Architect evaluates the core against the brief and plan, then returns ranked complete hybrid-team variants built from real Professional Profiles.

  5. 5
    Choose one option

Each option is one complete team, not another team attached to the previous result. Compare role evidence, availability and coverage before applying it.

  6. 6
    Combine teams around the work

Assign teams and roles to phases and tasks. Architect keeps each assignment connected to the plan, dependencies and expected workload.

  7. 7
    Review workload and commercial context

Hours and modeled cost appear only when the selected operating model enables them. A no-hours project does not force artificial allocation fields into the plan.

  8. 8
    Activate the reviewed composition

Save revisions while the structure is being edited. Activate the draft only after the project team, plan and operating rules are ready.

05

The project team can be narrower than the saved teams

A source team may gain new specialists after a project has started. Collty can keep the wider team visible as available context without silently adding every new member to active project delivery.

Active specialists are the people actually assigned to the project. Available or inactive specialists remain visible for deliberate expansion or replacement, but they do not receive project responsibilities until they are activated and the project composition is updated.

  • Use an inactive specialist when you need additional capability later in the project.
  • Confirm participation and access before treating a person as an active project member.
  • Remove or replace a project assignment without deleting the specialist from the source team.
  • Project Workspace, Project Architect and Creative Canvas read the project composition rather than assuming every source-team member is active.
